This café/ bakery on New Row was Dunfermline’s first all-vegan café when it opened back in 2021. It serves breakfast and brunch items such as granola, porridge, and avocado on toast as well a selection of soups, vegan meats, and of course cakes and vegan coffee.

The menu also caters to people with allergens with 80% of food served being gluten-free.

One reviewer commented: “Went here today for breakfast, noticed it a few times when I have been in Dunfermline so thought we will give it a try.

“I had the Smoked Tofu Goulash and for a drink I had Blue Lady (floral tea). First of all the Blue Lady was so refreshing with an amazing scent to it that wasn't too strong. The Goulash, well, I had never had goulash before and didn't know what it was by my. God was it incredible. The heat from it then the cream on top, simple incredible. The bread was perfect aswell.

“Genuinely can't fault anything. With my experience here, the place is beautiful decorated, just gives the essence of fresh was and you can tell that the food is going to be fresh when you get it.

“Service was top notch, between ordering and receiving our food seemed like no time at all.

“I will definitely be back and look forward to try more food from here.”

Dhoom

Situated on New Row, Dhoom has plenty of vegan options on their menu for those who don’t want to eat any animal-derived foods.

One reviewer said: “Unbelievably delicious food!! Came here due to the number of vegan options we saw on the menu (thank you so much dhoom for clearly labelling dietary requirements) and the food surpassed all expectations. Without a doubt we shall return and bring friends!”

 

Las Vegans

This vegan and vegetarian Italian takeaway has all of the items on their menu available in vegan and vegetarian versions, so there’s bound to be something for everyone. Their menu includes items such as Vegetarian Ravioli with Porcini and Velvet Potatoes, Funghi Porcini and Vegan Chicken, and a range of pizzas to choose from.

This Italian restaurant on Dunfermline’s High Street has a separate vegan menu which includes meals such as homemade lasagne with soya mince bolognese, and vegan bechamel, and pizzas with vegan mozzarella. There is also gluten free pasta and pizza available. 

One review said: “This was my husband, son, and my first time eating here, and what an absolutely amazing experience it was. The food menu is brilliant, as is the drinks menu. There are so many delicious options to choose from. I am vegetarian, and there was a whole vegan menu to choose from, plus so many vegetarian options.

“I chose the gnocchi sorentina and it was blooming fantastic! Honestly, I wish I was eating it for dinner tonight.

“Every staff member we spoke with was extremely helpful and made our visit fantastic. So welcoming, and all had big smiles. Will 100% be back!
