A Dunfermline drink driver, who was seen driving through a field, was then found lying at a storage facility.

Callum Douglas, 24, of Castleblair Park, was almost five times over the limit and has appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on March 2 at Preston Crescent, Inverkeithing, he drove having consumed excess alcohol. His reading was 108 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes.

He also admitted that on the same day at Fulmar Way, Dalgety Bay, he was in possession of cocaine.

Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said at 5.15pm a man was out walking his dog when he saw a car being driven through a grass field and contacted the police.

At 6.30pm officers were called to an incident at a storage facility and found Douglas lying on the floor. He was initially unresponsive and when he eventually woke up he was seen to be heavily intoxicated.

When he was searched he was found to have cocaine.

Sheriff Susan Duff banned Douglas from driving for a year and fined him £285.
