ROADWORKS will restart on the A92 this weekend as part of a £618,000 of improvement work scheme.

Following preparation work which took place earlier this month, a contraflow will be in operation at Cowdenbeath from 7.30am on Friday until 7.30pm on Monday.

Further overnight lane closures will be in place between 7.30pm and 6.30am on Monday, May 13 to stand down the contraflow.

During the works, the Cowdenbeath junction eastbound A92 on slip road will be closed with eastbound traffic diverted onto the westbound A92 carriageway to turn at Crossgates and return eastbound.

The Lochgelly junction eastbound A92 off slip road will also be closed. Traffic for Lochgelly will continue to Chapel Junction at Kirkcaldy, where they can turn to return westbound on the A92 and exit at the Lochgelly junction westbound off slip road.

Amey, who are carrying out the work on behalf of Transport Scotland, say the resurfacing will benefit more than 16,000 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
