A KINCARDINE golf club has been named the best in the business at the Scottish Hospitality Awards.

Tulliallan Golf Club lifted the title of Best Golf Club at the annual award ceremony, staving off some tough competition in the process.

The award, given out to the best overall hospitality experience, celebrated the food, drink and service offering.

A nine-strong team representing Tulliallan GC attended the award ceremony at the Double Tree by Hilton Strathclyde on Monday.

Karen Brown, franchisee of the catering at the club, was honoured to lift the award and hailed teamwork as a key factor in their success.

“I feel absolutely ecstatic,” Karen said. “The competition was so tough, Cochrane Castle got highly commended.

“So to take the trophy from such prestigious clubs like them is definitely an honour for us.

“It’s down to the whole team – the bar staff, the greenkeeping staff – who make the experience for golfers and visitors to come and eat.

“This award belongs to the whole club.”

The Scottish Hospitality Awards was run by Creative Oceanic and aimed to highlight excellence in Scotland’s hospitality industry.

Finalists made up of hotels, bars, restaurants, spas and other industry sectors attended the award ceremony after being shortlisted at the end of March.
