A PERSON died after being hit by a train between Edinburgh and Inverkeithing.
Services to and from Fife were cancelled on Monday evening after the tragedy.
British Transport Police have confirmed details of the incident.
A spokesperson said: "Officers were called to South Gyle railway station at around 6.41pm last night (June 10) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the procurator fiscal.”
Lines reopened shortly after 9pm.
