The introduction of the day return tickets to the Stagecoach bus app comes alongside changes to the Express network from July 29.
Journeys to Edinburgh from Ferrytoll P&R are now every five minutes during peak times and up to every 15 minutes in the evening.
Services from Dunfermline leave up to every 15 minutes during the day and 30 minutes in the evening.
Customers can activate the tickets when they are ready to board and show the driver, doing the same on the return journey.
