A DUNFERMLINE drug addict who has repeatedly ignored a driving ban has been jailed.
Lauren Lewis, 42, of Broomhead Drive, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to be sentenced for a catalogue of offending.
Her crime spree included driving a car in Queen Anne High School car park when intoxicated, as teachers and pupils began to arrive in the morning.
She was also in possession of crack cocaine when a patient at Queen Margaret Hospital and smoked it within a ward.
Having been banned from driving she continued to get behind the wheel.
She had previously admitted a string of offences.
On 27th April last year at the Tesco car park, Winterthur Lane, Dunfermline, she was in charge of a car when unfit to drive through drink or drugs.
On 31st May last year at Dunfermline police station, she was in possession of cocaine.
On 19th June last year at Queen Anne High School, Dunfermline, she drove a car when unfit through drink or drugs.
She was also in possession of cocaine there.
On 17th December last year at Queen Margaret Hospital, she was in possession of cocaine.
On 15th June this year at Limekilns Road, Dunfermline, she drove a car when disqualified and without insurance.
Then on 26th June at Broomhead Drive she again drove a car when disqualified and without insurance.
The school incident involved police receiving a call at 8am about a car parked in the Queen Anne High car park.
Lewis, a heroin and crack cocaine user, was slumped over the wheel with the engine running and the car park was described as being busy at the time.
When she saw the police, Lewis tried to speed away but the officers blocked the exit route.
Defence solicitor Alan Davie said: “She’s been heavily misusing drugs and her health has deteriorated.
"She has made some terrible decisions putting other people at risk.”
Sheriff Susan Duff jailed Lewis for 14 months and banned her from driving for five years.
