A MAN was punched after becoming involved in an argument outside a Dunfermline shop.
The culprit was 50-year-old Edward Taylor, of Burns Street, Dunfermline.
He appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted that on 29th October 2021 at Scotmid, East Baldridge Drive, he assaulted a man by punching him on the head to his injury.
Depute fiscal Brogan Moffat said that the incident took place at around 8.30pm when Taylor was standing outside the shop with his two dogs.
An argument started between Taylor and a man who had just come out of the shop.
Taylor punched him to the face causing a cut lip.
Defence solicitor Alan Davie said his client had been provoked and “had been spoken to in an aggressive manner”.
He added: “At the time felt his actions were justified”.
Sheriff Susan Duff imposed a community payback order with 180 hours of unpaid work.
