Members of HMS Caledonia in Rosyth have raised more than £1400 for a children's hospice.
On September 25, Warrant Officers, Senior NCOs, and Senior Rates Mess from HMS Caledonia presented a cheque for £1407.75 to Rachel’s House Children’s Hospice (CHAS) in Kinross.
Over the past year, the team has organised various fundraising activities, including a Christmas raffle, coffee mornings, quiz nights, and fundraising cards.
Rachel’s House was selected as the mess's charity for 2023-2024 in recognition of the support it provides to children with additional needs and their families.
The hospice offers both end-of-life and respite care, extending its services to families at home as well.
HMS Caledonia houses several units, including the Royal Navy HQ Scotland and Northern Ireland, His Majesty’s Royal Marines Band Scotland, and the Royal Navy Candidates Preparation Course.
It also supports military personnel from ships being built or refitted at Rosyth Dockyard.
Children’s hospices across Scotland, which includes Rachel’s House, rely on charitable donations to operate and provide support to families during challenging times.
All contributions ensure the continued running of this vital facility and its additional services.
