Plans have been submitted that would see the creation of two new “glamping” pods near Dunfermline.

Glamping is a luxury camping experience that features indoor amenities such as beds and electricity.

It's proved to be a popular holiday style in recent years, with five pods already under construction in Oakley.

The applicant, Gregor Wylie, hopes to build the structures in a garden on Crossford’s Backmuir of Pitfirrane, Lundin Road.

If approved, they would be used for overnight guest stays, and work would include creating associated decking, along with secure storage for bicycles, recycling, and refuse.

Three new parking spaces would be required, although the applicant is not proposing changes to vehicle access from the public road.

Neighbours have been informed of the plans, and a decision on the application is due to be made on June 9.
