The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow covering Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
The warning covers much of Fife and cautions "periods of sleet and snow on Tuesday and Wednesday could bring some disruption".
The Met Office said: At low levels, precipitation will be a mix of rain, sleet and snow which could lead to some small snow accumulations in places."
The warning is in place from midnight tonight until 3pm on Wednesday.
They advised that some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
Temperatures across Fife indicate that the snow is unlikely to lie.
