The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain across Fife.
It will be valid from 12am to 11.59pm on Wednesday and covers the Kingdom and much of eastern Scotland.
The rain, which is expected to be very heavy at times, could cause travel disruption and possible flooding.
The warning states that there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services where flooding occurs.
Road closures may also be possible due to flooding, as well as difficult driving conditions.
The warning advises travellers to give themselves extra time for their journeys, check road conditions, and amend travel plans if necessary.
Some communities could also be at risk of being cut off by flooded roads.
For this reason, residents are being encouraged to check if their property could be at risk.
