Fife weather warning: Wednesday's forecast for Dunfermline

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Fife, forecasting continuous rain throughout Wednesday.

Beginning at midnight and continuing until 11.59pm, the area is expected to experience a full day of heavy rainfall.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has also issued a flood alert for Fife, warning it will remain in place until further notice.

They said: "Surface water flooding is possible in urban areas, especially near drains and low-lying spots."

Residents have been asked to "adhere to road closures and take care near rivers and fast-flowing water".

The Met Office has further cautioned there could be issues with spray, standing water, and potential travel delays.

The agency stated: "Heavy and persistent rain is expected throughout the day."

The rain is forecast to remain constant without any breaks or lighter periods.

From the early hours, the wind is also expected to pick up, reaching speeds of 17mph by 10am and maintaining that speed for much of the day.

Temperatures will remain steady at around 4C.

There are currently no signs of the rain easing into the night, with at least a 95 per cent likelihood of rain until early Thursday morning.

Across the board, a wet day is anticipated, with a persistent high likelihood of sustained downfall.
