THE 250th Duloch Junior Parkrun will take place in Dunfermline on Sunday.
The friendly, free and fun event has been on the go since August 2019 and, save for the pandemic, has been taking place every week.
The 2k route in Duloch attracts a healthy number of children aged between four and 14 who can run, jog or walk either on their own, with friends or an adult.
David Saunders, one of seven run directors, told the Press: "It varies but we sometimes get 60-80 kids taking part.
"It's not a race, it's to do with people getting involved, going for a run and enjoying themselves.
"There are some good runners and there are also those that go round with their parents and it's just for fun, they get a time when they finish but it's not competitive."
Following on from the success of the Dunfermline Parkrun, a 5k event that takes place every Saturday morning in Pittencrieff Park and began in 2015, the junior version has around 20 volunteers that keep it running smoothly.
David added: "It's just a good community event. Kids come out and do some exercise on a Sunday morning, and then either go home or go for a coffee in Tesco cafe.
"It brings people together and it's a real achievement to get to the 250th."
The run takes place in Duloch Park every Sunday at 9.30am.
