An open day will be held next month to give people the chance to see Inverkeithing High School for one final time.

It will be the last chance for many to see the current school, located on Hillend Road, before operations move in August to the new £88m Caledonia High over in Rosyth.

As previously reported in the Press, Fife Council is looking for somebody to take on the current Inverkeithing High School buildings after pupils move out.

Caledonia High, built by BAM Construction, is located just off Admiralty Road in Rosyth.

It will have the capacity to accommodate 1,735 pupils across three floors, with an open 'see and be seen' approach throughout the school.

There will also be a play area with seating, outdoor table tennis and a basketball court, plus a community garden and greenhouse.

Members of the community are now being invited to attend an Open Day on May 23 to see Inverkeithing High School for one last time.

The event information on Ticket Tailor states: “This event is a unique opportunity for former pupils, families, staff and friends to walk the corridors once more, revisit old classrooms, reconnect with familiar faces and share memories that shaped so many childhoods.

"Whether you left last year or decades ago, we welcome you back to mark this important moment in our school’s journey.

“Come along to explore the building, view displays of photographs and memorabilia and take a final stroll through the spaces that have held so much laughter, learning and community life.

“We look forward to sharing this day with you as we honour the legacy of our school and celebrate the generations of young people who have passed through its doors.”

It will run from 10am to 2pm and tickets can be purchased online at Ticket Tailor.
