Three fire engines were sent to a gorse fire in Inverkeithing yesterday (Sunday, May 10).

The incident took place at Fairykirk Quarry around 5.42pm.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.42pm on Sunday, May 10, to reports of a large area of gorse well alight at Fairykirk Quarry, Inverkeithing.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the area, and the fire was extinguished.

“There were no reported casualties, and crews left the scene at 8.06pm after ensuring it was safe.”
