THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain in Fife today.
The warning is in place for much of central and south-west Scotland, but stretches to west and central Fife.
It will be in place from 2pm until 9pm on Tuesday (today)and the public are being warned to expect some heavy showers which could lead to flooding.
It follows a heavy downpour last Friday, which resulted in road closures, traffic delays and the closure of Inverkeithing High School due to flooding.
The Met Office say the public should expect "spray and flooding on roads" transport delays with "bus and train services taking longer," disruption to power supplies and the possibility of homes and businesses flooding.
They say people should check if their property is at risk of flooding,check road conditions before driving; and prepare for power cuts.
The Met Office said: "A few places could see 20 mm in an hour, and there is a chance that the odd location could see 30- 40 mm in 2-3 hours.
"This may lead to some localised flooding and travel disruption across parts of central Scotland.
"The heaviest showers may be accompanied by thunder but showers will tend to steadily fade through the evening."
