NHS FIFE has appointed Helen Paterson as its new director of nursing.

Helen is currently associate director of nursing at NHS Forth Valley and has a broad portfolio of experience gathered across a range of strategic and clinical roles in both acute and primary care.

In her current post, Helen is also the board lead for the nursing and midwifery quality improvement agenda and was involved in a range of national programmes.

In accepting the position, Helen said, “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new director of nursing for NHS Fife and I’m really looking forward to working with staff across the organisation to build on the wide range of work already under way to enhance patient care.” NHS Fife chief executive Paul Hawkins said, “I am very pleased to welcome Helen as the board’s new director of nursing. Helen brings with her a great deal of experience, gathered from a range of nursing and strategic roles. I am in no doubt that Helen will play a key role as we look to develop and improve the services we provide for the people of Fife.”
