A DISPUTE over the payment of wages led to an Inverkeithing café being splattered with eggs.

The incident resulted in former café worker Laura Murray appearing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Murray, 29, of Cochrane Avenue, Inverkeithing, admitted that on October 9 at Il Pazzo Café, Hill Street, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by giving eggs to a child and directed her to throw them at the café windows and made an offensive remark.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said: “The accused was employed at the café and there was a difference of opinion between her and the complainer about that employment.

“On October 9, the accused attended there in relation to a sum of money she said was owed to her.

"There was an argument and as she left the take-away she was heard saying ‘F****** foreigners’.

“Thereafter the owner noticed that eggs had been thrown onto the café window.”

CCTV was used to identify the involvement of Murray.

Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said: “She’s not proud of her behaviour. She was employed by the owner.

"When they parted ways she made attempts to obtain unpaid wages.

“She went there with the best of intentions to obtain the wages. There was an argument and she’s ashamed of her behaviour.

“She is currently unemployed and the sum of money remains unpaid.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry deferred sentence until April 25 for good behaviour.
