Yobs throwing stones at homes in Inverkeithing failed to notice brand new cameras were installed just before the incident.
The youths look set to be caught red-handed after cops posted on Twitter that they installed a camera right before they were there.
They have been installed on King Street in response to recent anti-social behaviour.
Police were called last Friday at 2.55pm following reports of stones being thrown near residential premises in the area.
To the youths throwing stones at houses on King Street, #Inverkeithing, yesterday afternoon: Did you not notice our new addition in the street?🤔 It's a domehawk camera that was installed just before you were there. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Fife, supported by partner agencies, have deployed a camera in the King Street area of Inverkeithing.
"This is in response to an increase in anti-social behaviour reported in the area and will help with the detection and prevention of crime."
