A DRINK-DRIVER in Dunfermline did not even hold a full licence, a court has heard.

The culprit was Christopher McIntosh, 24, of Spittalfield Crescent, Inverkeithing.

At Dunfermline Sheriff Court, he admitted that on March 6 at Halbeath Road, Dunfermline, he drove after consuming excess alcohol.

His reading was 38 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 mgs.

He also admitted that he drove without insurance and without a full licence, as he was the holder of a provisional licence.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said a police patrol car saw a vehicle being driven erratically at 2.40am.

The car, driven by McIntosh, was stopped after checks revealed it was not insured.

When officers spoke to McIntosh they could detect a strong smell of alcohol and he failed a breath test.

Sheriff Simon Collins banned McIntosh from driving for a year and fined him £525.
