With the potential hosts for Eurovision Song Contest 2023 narrowed down to Glasgow and Liverpool, many are eager to see who will win out and host the music competition next year.

The two cities made the shortlist after 5 others like Manchester, Newcastle, and Sheffield were unsuccessful in their bid.

The BBC will have a tough time deciding between the applicants and will have to take into consideration a lot of factors.

One factor that might prove vital in the broadcaster’s decision could be the arena size and infrastructure available in both locations.

Glasgow Arena Capacity

The OVO Hydro is the biggest arena in Glasgow and is situated in the city’s Finnieston area, making it a likely location for next year’s competition if Glasgow is successful.

The multi-purpose indoor facility has excellent transport links and has hosted comedians like Kevin Bridges and musicians like Rod Stewart.

The entertainment venue has a maximum capacity of 14,500, making it among the largest in the UK.

Liverpool Arena Capacity

The M&S Bank Arena Liverpool was opened in 2008 and is located in the city’s Quay area on the King’s Dock.

The venue has a maximum capacity of 11,000, making it smaller than the OVO Hydro.
