THE funeral of Celtic legend Jim Brogan has taken place in Glasgow.

Emotional friends and family gathered in St Andrew’s Cathedral, on the city’s Clyde Street, to say their final farewells.

Dozens of floral tributes were laid out for the former footballer, with one from Celtic Football Club reading: “Rest in peace, Jim. From everyone at Celtic Football Club.”

As reported exclusively by the Evening Times this week, the former footballer, who played left back for the club for 13 years, passed away at 1.30am on Monday surrounded by family at Moffat Street Care Home in the Gorbals area of Glasgow.

He died after a battle with dementia.

His daughter Colette Farren paid tribute to her dad saying he was the “most outstanding daddy” who never missed a parents’ evening, despite his high-profile footballing career.
