This year's competition features a number of Scots ready to compete for the top spot in this year's big baking tent.
With the kickoff now hours away, and the contestants now announced, here is our rundown of the Scots set to appear on the country’s ‘favourite’ baking show.
Kevin, 33, Lanarkshire
Aged 33, Lanarkshire resident, Kevin is competing in this year's Bake Off. The music teacher has been baking for fun since the age of 17 and is also an accomplished musician himself.
Kevin’s main instrument is the saxophone, but he is also skilled when it comes to playing other musical instruments like the piano, clarinet, and flute.
He is married to his wife Rachel and loves playing board games with his siblings and their partners.
Beyond his love for baking, music and family, Kevin surrounds himself with pets and is a big animal lover.
In the kitchen, Kevin believes in using seasonal ingredients and loves using an interesting combination of fruits, herbs, nuts, and spices, believing presentation to come naturally to him.
James, 25, Cumbria
Nuclear scientist, James, aged 25, grew up in Glasgow’s East End and enjoys the technical side of baking.
While a lover of the science of baking, he is truly in his element when he adds his own ‘child-friendly horror-themed' signature to a recipe.
Autumn-themed flavours like mixed spice, apples and caramel are also his favourite.
