IT WAS the “final straw” for a two-year relationship when a Kelty woman bit and punched her partner.

Ashley Lewis, 29, of Black Road, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court after the violent incident.

She admitted that on October 12 at her home she assaulted her partner by biting him and punching him on the head to his injury.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia told the court: “The accused and the complainer had been in a relationship for two years but following this incident it is now over. He said this was the final straw.

“On Thursday evening they had been drinking together in the house. He had asked her to slow down.”

Around 11pm an argument started and she jammed the kitchen door closed to keep him out.

He sat down and watched TV but then the electricity was turned off.

“The accused became more and more agitated. She leapt on to him when he was on the sofa. She bit his arm and punched his face, busting his lip,” added the depute.

The victim was left with a bruised eye and a bite mark on his forearm.

Defence solicitor Andrew Robb said: “She too is sporting a black eye following the scuffle between them.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry called for reports and Lewis will return to court for sentencing on November 15.
