The male, who has been described as being in his late teens, entered the shop at around 1.50pm on Saturday tripping over shopping baskets before demanding alcohol and cigarettes and saying he had a gun.

Abbey News shop owner Naveed Akbar (43) told the Press that he thought it was a funny, rather than scary experience because the male was so drunk and he didn't believe he had a gun. However Mr Akbar was worried what he would do next so called the police.
