IN THE 2007 film, 'I Am Legend', Will Smith plays a scientist who appears, initially, to be the only human survivor, immune to a terrible plague spread by the use of a chemical that was supposed to cure cancer, with the rest of mankind mutated into vampiric zombies.

It's unbelievable that we now have some anti-vaxxers actually using the scenario of this movie as a reasonable argument for not taking the vaccine.

Oh yes, very well-reasoned. This, as far as I can see, is surely the most idiotic reason yet conceived for not taking it.

They seem convinced that the fictional events portrayed could easily become a reality as they take place as recently as 2012.

Do they not know that Richard Matheson's original novel, on which the film is based, was written in 1954, with the story set in 1976?

Not only do these people insult us double-jabbed but the complete nonsense spouted by them does nothing to help those still trying to make their minds up as to whether to get themselves vaccinated, or not.
