DUNFERMLINE have completed the signing of Hearts striker Gavin Reilly on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old becomes Allan Johnston's third summer signing, following defender Lee Ashcroft and midfielder Nat Wedderburn in joining Athletic for their Championship campaign.

Reilly came through the youth system at Queen of the South, where he played under Johnston, and made 133 appearances for the Doonhamers.

He scored 15 goals in season 2014/2015 as Queens finished fourth in the Championship before moving to Tynecastle on a three-year deal.

Reilly made 32 appearances for the Jambos last season, scoring five goals, and Johnston said: "He's got a lot of pace, is a good finisher and I think he will be a good fit for Dunfermline. He played a lot of games under myself when I was the manager and you can see he's kept on improving year on year, and he's still got the hunger and desire to do well. That's the type of player we're looking for."

The move comes after newly appointed Pars chairman Ross McArthur told Press Sport last week that the Pars were looking to recruit strikers who had experience at Premiership level.

We will have more on Reilly's arrival and the Dunfermline squad's return to pre-season training in this Thursday's Press Sport.
