PARS fans heading to next Saturday's clash at Ayr United will be able to watch the action for just a fiver.

Allan Johnston's team meet last season's League One rivals for the first time this season since promotion at Somerset Park on October 1 and prices have been slashed by the Honest Men for every fan attending the game.

The meeting between the teams comes after Ayr chairman Lachlan Cameron's father Donald, himself a former chairman of the club, passed away recently and there will be a minute's silence ahead of kick-off.

Confirming that entry prices have been pegged at £5, a statement on Ayr's website said: "The match takes on a special meaning for chairman Lachlan Cameron and his family with the passing of his father and former chairman Donald Cameron last week and there will be a minute’s silence immediately prior to the match.

"There will also be 2000 clap banners handed out to our own supporters, these have been used for some time by Leicester City, to help create a fantastic atmosphere. The clap banners will be donated by Donald Grant, a family friend of the Camerons who lost his wife recently to Alzheimers.

"The Cameron and Grant families will also be donating £10 to Alzheimers Scotland for every season ticket holder that attends as well as making up the difference to the club for the reduced ticket prices.

"Hopefully we will see a huge crowd on the day to create a special atmosphere and also to raise awareness for Alzheimers Scotland."

Dunfermline have enjoyed a good recent record at Somerset, having won both league encounters there last season as well as a Scottish Cup third round tie.
