DUNFERMLINE have confirmed the emergency transfer of Hibernian club mascot, ‘Sunshine’, ahead of today’s match between the teams.

Popular Pars mascot, Sammy the Tammy has been reported AWOL, and search parties have been working throughout the night to track Sammy down.

Athletic legend Jim Leishman made the call to friends at Hibernian to ask the all-important favour ahead of the match.

Jim said: "We have had search parties out for Sammy, but to no luck so far. However, we are pleased to capture this late signing ahead of the big game, we’d like to thank Hibernian for their co-operation and generosity in getting this deal in place. Fingers crossed ‘Sunshine the Par’ can bring the boys luck today."

A Hibernian spokesperson said: “Hibernian have enjoyed success in the emergency loan market this season, and hopefully Sunshine will prove to be a similarly strong addition for Dunfermline Athletic.

“We wish Sunshine well for today and look forward to welcoming him back to Leith for our next Hibs Kids match against Queen of the South on April 15."
