THE first round of a brand new Scottish Wake Series will take to the water in Townhill this weekend.
The competition will bring riders from across Scotland to Waterski & Wakeboard Scotland's National Training Site on Sunday, which will also feature coaching from professional wakeboarder Matt Crowhurst and is free for spectators.
It is part of a series that is not only designed to find a Scottish champion, but to identify the best talent the country has to offer in order to form a Scottish Development Team.
Speaking ahead of the competition, John Beattie, National Development Officer for WWS, said: "This is a really exciting new competition for our site in Dunfermline and Scottish wakeboarding as a whole. We are delighted with the support we have received from the wakeboarding community and look forward to welcoming riders from all over Scotland to the NTS for what promises to be a fantastic day. We are also extremely grateful to our sponsors – Scotland Nautique and Syndicate Clothing for their generous contribution to the event’s success."
Practice opens at 9am, with the competition itself beginning at 1.30pm.
