ATHLETIC have begun reshaping their squad for next season by announcing the departure of two players.

Conner Duthie and Scott Lochhead will leave East End Park when their contracts expire at the end of this month.

The duo are among a clutch of players whose deals are up at the end of the month but will not be retained by boss Allan Johnston.

Duthie, 21, joined the Pars on a free transfer from Hibernian in March 2016 and made his debut in a 2-2 draw at home to Forfar Athletic.

However he played just six more times for the club - his last appearance coming in August's Irn-Bru Cup win over Arbroath, in which he was red-carded - before spending time on loan at Forfar.

Lochhead, 21, was signed on a free from Dundee United in the summer of 2016 and made his debut as a late substitute in a Betfred Cup defeat against his former club.

After a spell on loan with Clyde, he played in three of Athletic's Betfred Cup group matches last July - including the 2-2 draw with Hearts - and played four more times before also going on loan to Forfar until January.

A statement on the club's website read: "DAFC can announce that Conner Duthie and Scott Lochhead will leave our club, when their existing contracts expire on 31 May.

"We wish both Conner and Scott every success in their future career, and thank them for their services."
