ATHLETIC have completed two new signings in the shape of siblings Jackson and Louis Longridge this afternoon.

The pair have signed on at East End Park after completing medicals earlier today and become Allan Johnston's first recruits of the summer from outwith last season's squad.

But Fraser Aird has left the club, signing for Dundee United this afternoon.

Full-back Jackson, 23, arrives from Livingston on a two-year-deal while Louis, 26, has joined on a one-year agreement after leaving Falkirk.

The younger Longridge brother made 23 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Championship for David Hopkin's Livi, who earned a second successive promotion by beating Partick Thistle in the Premiership play-off final.

But he has opted against top flight football with the Lions for the Pars, where he will team-up with his older brother.

Louis, who started his career with Hamilton Academical, joined Falkirk in November on an emergency loan until January before signing a permanent deal until the end of the season.

He scored seven goals in 25 league appearances last season for the Bairns.

Their arrivals follow the news this morning that Jason Talbot has left the club after three seasons, while Lewis Martin has penned a fresh one-year contract.

In addition, it has been confirmed that wide man Fraser Aird has joined Championship rivals Dundee United on a two-year-deal.

The 23-year-old had been widely anticipated to join Nicky Clark in moving to Tannadice - with Pars boss Allan Johnston suggesting to Press Sport this week that the move was "done and dusted" - and the Taysiders have now announced the move.

Former Rangers winger Aird joined Dunfermline last summer after leaving Falkirk, but was substituted only 40 minutes into his debut at Livingston on the opening day of the season.

Although he scored his first goal for the club in a 3-1 win over the same opponents in October, Aird struggled to hold down a regular slot in the team.

He did, however, play in Dunfermline's final 10 games of the campaign - scoring three goals - as they made the play-offs, only to lose to United in the quarter-finals.ย
