DUNFERMLINE have completed their sixth new signing by recruiting former Dundee United midfielder Willo Flood.

The 33-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with Allan Johnston's side and Press Sport understands there could be further business completed this week.

The experienced Irishman follows Joe Thomson, who arrived on Friday, in signing for the Pars, who have also completed permanent deals for Tom Beadling, Jackson and Louis Longridge, Danny Devine and Flood's ex-United team-mate, Mark Durnan.

Dunfermline Press:

After starting his career with Manchester City, Flood moved to Cardiff City in 2006 and spent three years in South Wales - which included two separate loan spells at Tannadice - before joining Celtic.

His time in Glasgow didn't last long and, after just 12 months, he left to join Middlesbrough before signing premanently for United in 2011.

Two years later he was on the move again, this time to Aberdeen, where he played until 2016 before returning once more to Tayside.

He was a regular in the Arabs side that finished above the Pars in last season's Championship, playing 38 games, including all six meetings with Dunfermline.

After United won their Premiership play-off quarter-final, he was then red-carded in their semi-final first leg loss to Livingston, which turned out to be his final appearance for the club.

Flood is the second Dundee United player, alongside defender Durnan, to move to East End this summer, with Nicky Clark and Fraser Aird moving in the opposite direction.

We will have more on Flood's arrival in Thursday's Press.
