GeoSonic Scottish Lowland Football League:

BSC Glasgow 2 Kelty Hearts 3

THOMAS COURTS described Saturday's success at BSC Glasgow as a "great three points" as Kelty Hearts eventually won a five-goal thriller.

Their second Lowland League win of the season at Alloa's Indodrill Stadium was hard-fought as they let a two-goal lead slip before bagging a second-half winner through Scott Dalziel.

The visitors took a 20th minute lead when Stuart Cargill rose above the home defence to glance in a superb header from Stephen Husband's free kick.

Just three minutes later, Kelty doubled their lead and Husband again was the creator, sending an exquisite ball into the area with the outside of his boot for Cargill to power home his sixth of the season from 12 yards.

The home side pulled level eight minutes into the second half but it took Courts' team just two minutes to regain the lead when Scott Dalziel tapped home for what proved to be the winner.

Central Taxis East of Scotland League, Conference A:

Easthouses Lily 2 Oakley United 1

RICHARD FOX says he's looking for a reaction from his Oakley players after they fell to a disappointing reverse at Easthouses Lily.

Things were looking good for the visitors when Lee Dawson headed them into the lead inside the opening 10 minutes and what looked to be a second from James McAteer was denied by an offside flag.

That proved pivotal as, after the interval, Easthouses turned the game on its head, taking the lead just after the hour mark.

Fox said: "It was a poor result after a good opening 20 minutes. But we lost two slack goals and it was a disappointing day all round. I don't look for excuses but we only had 15 players and I was one; I came on for the last 15 minutes.

"I won't be over it until we win the next game but that's football and you can't win them all. We've got a couple of tough games coming up over the next two weeks, so we'll get the boys in, draw a line under it and start again."

Conference B:

Crossgates Primrose 1 Bo'ness United 2

PRIMROSE were unable to turn the tables on Bo'ness as they were edged out in their East of Scotland League clash on Saturday.

Alan Campbell's side, who will host the West Lothian team again in the Alex Jack Cup on Saturday, were looking for revenge after being knocked out of the Football Nation East of Scotland Qualifying Cup at Newton Park in extra time the previous week.

Will Snowdon's touch from a shot at a corner during the early exchanges was judged by the referee to have crossed the line to give Bo'ness the lead, before Grant Henderson saved a penalty to deny the visitors a second.

A long ball headed on to Brian Morgan saw Crossgates fall two goals behind in the second half and, although Lyall Shaw netted from the rebound after Liam Devaney had a penalty saved, the hosts couldn't find a leveller and remain without a point after two matches.

Conference C:

Heriot-Watt University 4 Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts 1

LEE RICHARDSON is ready to step up his search for reinforcements after injury-hit Swifts were schooled by the students.

Despite taking the lead through Gavin Sullivan, Heriott-Watt hit back with four goals to leave Inverkeithing bottom of Conference C with two defeats from two games.

They travelled across the Forth with just 12 fully-fit players, and were without captain Ryan O'Connor, Ryan Cowie, Callum Murray and Lee Duffy.

The Ballast Bank outfit will replay their Alex Jack Cup first round tie with Edinburgh United – abandoned on August 11 due to an injury sustained by striker Callum Strang – on Saturday, and Richardson is keen to add to his squad sooner rather than later.

"We need to bring in a couple of players," he said.

"We had 12 players on Saturday and I brought in four of the under-20s who played on Friday night.

"We have a tight squad, as even the guys who are carrying knocks are turning up, but it's a bit frustrating that we've built a team from scratch but haven't been able to play the same team two weeks on the trot.

"Saturday was disappointing. We played on the biggest astro pitch I've ever seen but we looked flat and tired. We're usually full of energy, so I don't know whether it was to do with the size of the pitch or a couple of boys carrying injuries."

Richardson added that Cowie returned to training this week, and was hopeful of Murray being back in contention for this weekend.

Newburgh 3 Rosyth 0

ROSYTH'S winless start to the season continued as they fell to defeat at Newburgh on Saturday.

Brian Muirhead's team dropped to the foot of the table after their second defeat of the campaign, leaving them with just two points from their opening four matches.

However, in a closely-fought opening half-an-hour, they thought they had taken the lead when a cross was turned into the home net, only for top scorer Tam Hampson to be penalised for handball.

That decision came back to haunt the visitors when the home side took the lead before half-time.

The second period was just five minutes old when they fell further behind and the game was up with 12 minutes to go when Newburgh made it 3-0.

Rosyth have been handed a home tie in the first round of the Macron Scottish Junior Cup. They will host West Region League Two outfit Newmains United at the Fleet Grounds on Saturday, September 29.
