THE PARS garnered only their second league victory of the campaign last week but if they can string a few results together there is plenty of time to make up the lost ground.

Athletic are currently 16/1 to win the title (Boylesports: each-way terms 1/5th odds, place 1,2,3) and that is a fair reflection of their chances at this stage. Their opponents are priced up as follows: Ross County 9/4 (Bet365), Dundee United 5/1 (Betvictor), Inverness CT 6/1, Ayr United 10/1 (Skybet), Partick Thistle 14/1 (Betvictor), Morton and Queen of the South both 33/1 (Betvictor), Falkirk 250/1 (Betvictor) and Alloa 1000/1 (Betvictor).

Dunfermline are currently third from bottom in the league standings but that is still two places and five points better off than bitter rivals Falkirk, who they meet at Falkirk Stadium on Saturday.

Dunfermline are 11/8 to collect another win, a draw is 12/5 (Hills) and Falkirk 2/1 (Betfred/Betway). The bookies are not giving anything away but the Pars are fancied to pip the Bairns and start heading the right way up the table.

Prediction: Falkirk 0 Dunfermline 1.

Due to continuing Europa League involvement, both the league matches involving the Old Firm have been moved to Sunday. Celtic’s trip to St Johnstone is the game to be televised by BT Sport 1 (3.30pm kick-off) and despite their moderate start to the campaign, the Bhoys are 1/3 (Ladbrokes) to claim their fifth win in eight attempts. Saints are 10/1 (Betfred) and a draw 19/4 (Bet365).

Rangers play table-topping Hearts at Ibrox (3pm) where the bookies make the Gers 4/5, Hearts 19/5 (Betfred) and a stalemate 29/10 (Hills).

Celtic and Rangers have both got off to good starts in the Europa League and BT Sport 3 will be covering their second group stage matches tonight (Thursday).

FC (Red Bull) Salzburg host Celtic in an early kick-off (5.55pm) and the Austrian champions are 4/6 (Betfred), the Bhoys 9/2 and a draw 10/3 (Bet365/Spreadex).

Rangers will be looking to build on their excellent draw at Villarreal when they meet Rapid Vienna at Ibrox (8pm). The Gers are 11/10 (Skybet), the Green-Whites 3/1 (Bet365) while it is 13/5 that honours end even.
