A FORMER Liverpool star will swap Anfield Road for Halbeath Road to raise cash for the Pars in March.
Jason McAteer, who as well as playing for the Reds represented Bolton Wanderers and the Republic of Ireland, will be a special guest at Athletic’s Sportsman’s Dinner on March 9.
Organised in collaboration with the 1885 Business Club, the event will also welcome popular after-dinner speaker Jim Morrison and include a three-course dinner plus entertainment.
Tickets, which cost £60 per person or £600 for a table of 10, are available by emailing businessclub@dafc.co.uk.
Meanwhile, the Pars Former Players’ Association (FPA) will host an event of their own on March 1 in the shape of a whisky-tasting evening.
Taking place in Charlie D’s at East End, with doors opening at 7pm for a 7.30pm kick-off, the £15 ticket covers three whisky-tastings, a buffet and additional entertainment.
A menu of additional whiskies can be sampled individually for a £1 donation, and all profits from the evening will be donated to the club.
Tickets are available from beside the club shop before upcoming home matches from Roy Barry and Chris Wishart, from any FPA committee member, or by emailing chris@wishartnet.com.
In addition, the Centenary Club Lifeline will hold their AGM at East End Park next Thursday (February 7).
Members of the Lifeline – which, in November, reached £1 million in donations since its relaunch in 2013 – are invited to attend in the Jock Stein Suite for a 7pm start.
