DUNFERMLINE REIGN are celebrating after their senior men were crowned Scottish champions for the first time.

The team, who are coached by Kevin Pringle, sealed their maiden Scottish Basketball Championship title on Tuesday evening with victory over Stirling Knights.

Having suffered just one league defeat all season - which came at City of Edinburgh Kings last month - they went into the clash at their St Columba's High School base knowing that a win would clinch the title.

A 113-60 success over the Knights ensured that neither of their nearest challengers, Sony Centre Fury and the Kings, could catch Reign.

On Facebook, the club posted: "Tonight's win over Stirling Knights gives Reign their first ever Division One league title at senior men level - a real testament to the hard work and great team ethos present in our senior men.

"Well done to all the players and coaches that have had a hand in this years success!"

From their 16 league games played saw far, Reign's proud record of 15 wins, having scored 1,384 points, leaves them on top with 31 points, while their only other defeat came in the Scottish Cup semi-finals against the Fury.

We will have more on Reign's success in next week's Press Sport.
