THE PARS’ woeful run of form has meant that they are not mathematically safe from avoiding either bottom spot or, more realistically, the relegation play-off position.

Saturday’s opponents Greenock Morton lie a point behind the Pars and if either side loses the game at East End Park they could well be in for an anxious final game of the season.

The best odds for the game are Dunfermline 13/10 (Bet365/Betfred), a draw 23/10 (Betfred) and Morton 21/10. A draw is likely to be a decent result for both sides and it is a little surprising that it is the longest-priced outcome.

Prediction: Dunfermline 0 Greenock Morton 0.

Both the Pars and the ’Ton will be cheering on Ross County tomorrow (Friday) night and hoping they get at least the point required to make certain of the title. Opponents Queen of the South boosted their chances of avoiding being sucked into the relegation whirlpool with last week’s victory over Dunfermline but this match is a tough one for them; County are 4/6, a draw 11/4 and the Doonhamers 4/1.

Celtic can all but wrap up the Premier League title if they dispose of Kilmarnock in the Saturday lunchtime game (Sky Sports Football, 12.30pm). Killie will still have their eyes on third spot in what has been a superb season for them but the Bhoys are 2/7 (Skybet/Coral) to claim the points at Parkhead. Kilmarnock are 12/1 and it is 5/1 (Betway) that the spoils are shared.

Second meets third at Ibrox in the Sunday afternoon contest (Sky Sports Football, 3pm), the prices for which are Rangers 8/15 (Skybet), a draw 10/3 (Hills) and Aberdeen 6/1 (Bet365).

The Edinburgh derby at Easter Road is the day’s other game (BT Sport, 12.15pm) and with only three points separating the bitter rivals there is a lot riding on the encounter. Hibs are 13/10 whilst both the draw and Hearts can be backed at 23/10.

The Champions League semi-final first leg matches take place next week and the outright prices ahead of the games are as follows: Barcelona 13/8 (Betvictor), Liverpool 5/2, Tottenham Hotspur 4/1 and Ajax 19/4 (Spreadex). The two outsiders clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday (BT Sport, 8pm) and Betfred make both Spurs and Ajax 10/11 to qualify for the final. The match prices are Spurs 13/10, a draw 5/2 and Ajax 11/5.

Barcelona meet Liverpool at the Nou Camp on Wednesday (BT Sport, 8pm) and again the layers predict a tight battle, making Barcelona 8/11 (Betfred) to qualify and Liverpool 5/4 (Betfair Sportsbook). Barca are also 8/11 to emerge with a first leg lead; the Reds are 18/5 (Betvictor) and a draw 16/5 (Betway).
