DUNFERMLINE will be hoping to get back on the play-off track when they visit bottom side Partick Thistle on Saturday.

The Pars have not had a game since the beginning of the month and will be hoping that the enforced winter break has not halted their momentum. The bookies price the contest up fairly evenly: the Jags are 7/4 (Betway), the Pars 8/5 and a draw 12/5 (Skybet).

This is pretty tricky to call but Partick are struggling and even though this is a game they need to win to avoid being potentially marooned at the bottom, the fact is they are down there for a reason. Dunfermline can add to their woes with a narrow win.

Prediction: Partick 1 Dunfermline 2.

The top two meet in the BBC Scotland live game tomorrow (Friday) night (7.05pm) although there is a colossal 18-point gap between the protagonists. Dundee United are 10/11 (Hills/Betfred) to widen the gap still further, Inverness are 7/2 (Skybet) and a stalemate is 11/4 (Skybet). The Terrors surely have matters in safekeeping but Caley can steal a point on the night.

Prediction: Dundee United 1 Inverness CT 1.

Two of the Premier League’s bottom three clash in the proverbial relegation six-pointer tomorrow night (BT Sport 2, 7.45pm). Despite home advantage, St Mirren are marginal outsiders at 21/10 (Bet365), Hearts are 6/4 and a draw 23/10 (Betfred).

The other live game is improving St Johnstone at home to Rangers on Sunday (Sky Sports Football, 1.30pm). Rangers are 4/11, Saints 9/1 (Betfair Sportsbook) and a draw 4/1. The -1 handicap prices are the Gers even money, St Johnstone 12/5 (Unibet) and a tie 11/4.

Kilmarnock are fighting to get into the coveted top six but they are probably up against it when they visit Celtic in a non-televised Sunday 3pm encounter. The Bhoys are 1/5 (Skybet), Killie 18/1 and a draw 13/2 (Paddy Power). The -2 handicap odds are Celtic 31/20 (Coral), Kilmarnock 11/8 (Betway) and a tie 3/1 (Bet365).

Celtic and Rangers recommence their Europa League campaigns tonight (Thursday). Neither team is fancied by Unibet to remain at the business end of the competition: Celtic are 60/1 to win the trophy while Rangers are 150/1. The Bhoys’ last 32 first-leg match is at FC Copenhagen (BT Sport 2, 5.55pm) where the match prices are Copenhagen 12/5 (Unibet), Celtic 13/10 and a draw 23/10. Rangers host Braga in an 8pm game (BT Sport 3) and they are 6/5, Braga 13/5 (Betfred) and a draw 49/20 (Unibet).

Scotland continue their Six Nations campaign by travelling to Rome on Saturday (ITV, 2.15pm). The Scots are 1/3 to register their first victory of the campaign, Italy are 14/5 (Betway) and a draw 28/1 (Boylesports). Scotland are a best price -7 at 10/11 (Bet365) on the handicap, Italy are +8 at 19/20 (Unibet).
