DUNFERMLINE will be ruing the late equaliser they conceded at Partick on Tuesday as they now lie four points behind Saturday’s opponents Dundee having played a game more.

The Pars need a positive result to remain in the play-off hunt but the bookies take a lukewarm view of their chances of success at Dens Park: Dundee are 13/10 (Hills), Dunfermline 9/4 (Betway) and a draw 12/5 (Skybet).

The Dark Blues’ improvement has stemmed from five successive clean sheets but they have only scored four times over this period so the supporters could be in for a dour encounter. The prices are not far away but Stevie Crawford's men can snatch a point.

Prediction: Dundee 1 Dunfermline 1.

Ayr currently sandwich Dundee and Dunfermline in the league standings but have a good opportunity to enhance their play-off prospects with victory at lowly Queen of the South tomorrow (Friday) night (BBC Scotland, 7.05pm). The Honest Men are 29/20 (Hills) to leave Dumfries with the three points, the Doonhamers are 21/10 (Bet365) and a draw 12/5 (Bet365 / Skybet).

This could be another low-scoring struggle with Ayr given narrow preference. Prediction: Queen of the South 0 Ayr 1.

Celtic can pretty much sew up the Scottish Premiership title if they dispose of arch-enemies Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday (Sky Sports Football, 12pm). The Gers are 41/20 (Unibet), the Bhoys 7/5 and a draw 12/5. Over 2.5 goals is even money (Skybet/Hills), Under 10/11 (Bet365).

Celtic are in better form and may have a freshness advantage too given they are out of the Europa League.

Prediction: Rangers 1 Celtic 2.

BT Sport are televising two other top flight matches, starting with third versus fourth tomorrow night (BT Sport 1, 7.45pm). Motherwell are 17/10, Aberdeen 7/4 and a draw 23/10 (Betfred).

Hearts are in deep trouble at the bottom but may be catching Livingston, without a win in four games, at the right time when they meet at the Almondvale Stadium on Sunday (BT Sport 2, 3pm). Livi are 6/5 (Ladbrokes), the Jambos 5/2 (Bet365) and a draw 12/5.

Rangers are 70/1 (888 Sport) to win the Europa League as the competition enters the last 16 stage tonight (Thursday, BT Sport, 8pm). Bayer Leverkusen stand in their path and the bookies perceive the German outfit to be a substantial roadblock: Die Werkself are 1/4 to qualify for the quarter-finals, the Gers 3/1 (Skybet/Hills). The 90-minute prices for the first leg at Ibrox are Rangers 47/20 (Unibet), Bayer Leverkusen 6/5 (Coral) and a stalemate 13/5 (888 Sport).

The Six Nations Championship has fallen into disarray with both Italy and France calling off this weekend’s matches due to the coronavirus outbreak. This leaves Wales versus Scotland as the sole fixture (BBC1, Saturday 2.15pm). Wales are 2/5 (Skybet) to emerge triumphant, Scotland 11/4 (Spreadex) and a draw 25/1. Spreadex are also out on a limb in the handicap market as they chalk Scotland up at +9 whereas most other firms put the line at 7. 10/11 is the price in either case.
