A FROZEN pitch has resulted in Dunfermline's second round Scottish Cup clash against Greenock Morton on Saturday being postponed.

The Cappielow surface has been deemed unplayable following a pitch inspection today (Friday).

Officials from both sets of clubs have confirmed that the tie will now take place on Tuesday night, January 12, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

This means that Dunfermline's Championship match against Hearts at Tynecastle will now move to a later date, as cup competitions take priority for rescheduling.

The Press told you yesterday that a pitch inspection would take place in Greenock, with The Ton stating that the second round tie was "highly unlikely" due to frost on the pitch.

Morton's announcement also included news that three first-team players at the club had tested positive for coronavirus, with their self-isolation period set to end on Monday evening, next week.
