NEW dates for two of Dunfermline's recently postponed fixtures have been confirmed by the SPFL.

This afternoon, league bosses have announced that their trip to Heart of Midlothian, that had originally been scheduled for Tuesday this week, will now take place on Saturday January 30.

And, additionally, their New Year derby at home to Raith Rovers will now take place on Wednesday February 3.

Stevie Crawford's side, who have been out of action since their 1-1 draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle on December 29, had been due to host the second Fife derby of the season on January 2.

But their hopes of bettering the 2-2 draw they earned at Stark's Park in December were beaten by the weather, with a frozen East End pitch being rendered unplayable.

A full Championship card had been arranged for Tuesday January 12, which would have saw the Pars travel to Tynecastle to play the league leaders, but that too was called off.

Last Saturday, Dunfermline had been due to play Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup, but a frozen pitch also put paid to that fixture.

With cup fixtures taking priority, it had been due to go ahead on Tuesday, but it too was called off after the SFA announced a three-week football suspension.

That applies to leagues beneath the Championship and the Scottish Cup, with the third round of the latter being due to be played over the weekend of January 30.

However, with the temporary halt to the lower leagues and cup running until at least that date, it has been agreed that the Pars will fulfil their trip to the capital that weekend.
