FORMER Pars hitman Kevin Nisbet has been named in the Scotland squad that will compete at this summer's European Championships.

The 24-year-old, who struck 23 goals in 32 appearances for the club last season, is one of the 26 players that will be part of the first men's team to play at a major tournament in 23 years.

Steve Clarke's squad will take on Czech Republic, England and Croatia at the Euros, with two of their matches at Hampden, and their clash with the Auld Enemy taking place at Wembley.

In March Nisbet - who moved to Hibernian for a six-figure fee last summer - was named in the national set-up for the first time, for World Cup qualifiers against Austria, Israel and the Faroe Islands.

He came on for his international debut against the latter - a 4-0 win - and has been rewarded for a fine first season at Easter Road.

Nisbet has scored 18 teams as the team - managed by former Par, Jack Ross, who is assisted by ex-Athletic player, coach and manager, John Potter - finished third in the Premiership to secure European football.

They also will go for Scottish Cup glory on Saturday against St Johnstone, who are managed by another former Dunfermline coach, Callum Davidson.

Scotland's European Championship campaign begins against the Czech Republic at Hampden on June 14.
