DUNFERMLINE Athletic Ladies marked an historic first appearance at KDM Group East End Park by defeating Falkirk Development last night (Wednesday).

The Pars side had never played a match at the ground, with the team usually turning out at Pitreavie, or, previously, the Fleet Grounds in Rosyth, and a bumper crowd saw them hit 10 goals without reply in their Biffa SWFL (Scottish Women's Football League) East encounter.

Free entry, with a donation optional, helped attract a sizeable attendance for the landmark game, and the Dunfermline players put on a show for their supporters with a terrific performance.

Sammi Connell opened the scoring before Alex Davie, who last year was named as the Biffa SWFL North / East Division Player of the Season, having scored an astonishing 58 goals during the campaign, doubled their lead.

Connell then scored another to make it 3-0 before Meg Reilly, and Davie once more, took Dunfermline's tally to five.

Tyler Sibbons then got in on the act for Athletic's sixth, before Davie added another to complete her hat-trick.

She would score the final goal to take her tally for the night to four, adding to further efforts from Ellis Barton and Sarah Gibson, as Angie Comrie's Pars made their history-making night a memorable one.

We will have more on the team's success in next Thursday's Press Sport.
