A QUARTET of Athletic stars who have proudly worn the armband will come together to reminisce about their time at East End.

On Sunday October 22, the Dunfermline Athletic Former Players Association will hosts its first-ever 'Captains Brunch', where supporters will have the chance to hear from four men who have led the team with distinction.

Host, Forth One broadcaster and Pars fan, Steven Mill, will be joined in the Purvis Suite by Roy Barry, Scott Thomson, Andy Geggan and Callum Morris, whilst more names may be added to the star-studded line-up.

The event, which has a 12pm kick off, will allow those in attendance to hear from all four as part of a live Q&A, as well as having the opportunity to pose for photographs, hear about their careers in the game, and have the opportunity to bid on memorabilia.

Barry, who is a regular at Pars matches, is the last captain to lift the Scottish Cup for Dunfermline, having done so in 1968 after a 3-1 win over Heart of Midlothian at Hampden.

His time at the club came during its halcyon period, which also saw them reached the semi-finals of the European Cup Winners Cup in 1969, memorably beating English side, West Bromwich Albion, along the way.

Thomson joined the Pars from Raith Rovers in 1998 and spent 11 years with the club, which saw him honoured with a testimonial match in 2007 against Manchester United.

Still a popular figure around the club, 'Nipper' played a major role in the successful Jimmy Calderwood, and played in the 2006 League Cup final loss to Celtic.

Geggan arrived at East End in 2012 from Ayr United, with Jim Jefferies in charge, and spent five years at the club, during which time it entered administration and suffered relegation to the third tier.

In 2016, he played a key role in helping Dunfermline win League One, and was appointed captain upon their return to the Championship, after which he departed and returned to Ayr United.

One of Geggan's team-mates at East End was Morris, who initially arrived in 2012 after impressing Jefferies on trial.

The centre back quickly became a key part of the team but, after the team lost out on promotion back to the Championship in 2014, after a play-off final loss to Cowdenbeath, he left to join Dundee United.

After spells at Tannadice and then Aberdeen, Morris was brought back to Dunfermline midway through the 2016-17 season, and went on to help them reach the Premiership play-offs in 2017/18, where they lost to United in the quarter-final.

After departing for a second time, Morris went on to play for Ross County and Morpeth Town in his native north east of England.

The event will run until 3pm, and includes a buffet, whilst the bar will also be open.

Doors will open at 11.30am, whilst a raffle will also take place.

Very limited tickets, costing £10, are available, with all proceeds going to Dunfermline Athletic Football Club, and can be purchased at www.dafcfpa.co.uk.
