KELTY HEARTS have secured the services of on-loan Alfie Bavidge until the end of the season.

The New Central Park club have announced that they have reached an agreement with the teenage forward's parent club, Aberdeen, to extend his stay until the end of the season.

Forward Bavidge, 17, joined League One outfit Kelty in September on a temporary basis initially until this month.

In 10 appearances for the club so far, he has scored two goals, the last of which came in a 2-1 defeat at league leaders Falkirk last month.

When asked by Press Sport about whether he could extend his stay with Michael Tidser's team, he said:Β "I don't know anything myself so I just have to wait and see. The focus is just on winning these next few games that I've got and see what the future holds.

"I've been loving it to be fair. I think everyone that's asked me how it's going, I've said I've been loving it and really enjoying it. I think it's really benefitted me playing men's football week in, week out, and I've got to thank the gaffer for playing me week in, week out, and giving me the opportunity to express myself. It's been excellent for me."

He will now remain with Kelty, who travel to Cove Rangers tomorrow, for the remainder of the campaign, with the club commenting: "We’re delighted to announce the loan agreement with Aberdeen for striker Alfie Bavidge has been extended to the end of the current season.

"Alfie has made 10 Appearances, scoring twice, so far for the #MaroonMachine this season!"

Aberdeen added: "Alfie Bavidge has extended his loan spell with Kelty Hearts until the end of the season.

"We wish Alfie and Kelty all the best for the second half of the campaign."

The news comes after Tidser said this week that he is "constantly" looking to strengthen his squad, which recently saw skipper, Tam O'Ware, depart for a coaching opportunity with Queen's Park.

The Kelty player / boss also told Press Sport previously that he would be seeking discussions with Hamilton Academical and Dundee United respectively over the futures of two other on-loan player, Fergus Owens and Lewis O'Donnell.
