Murieston United 1 Dunfermline Athletic Ladies 6
CHARLES DIGNAN hailed his "fantastic" Pars stars after they returned to league action with a fine win at Murieston United.
Having made it through to the last eight of the Scottish Women's Football League (SWFL) Plate competition, in which they will play Linlithgow Rose this month, they travelled to Livingston for their head coach's first SWFL East League fixture since he took charge.
Dunfermline proved too good for their opponents, claiming a 6-1 success, and have now won four wins in a row, scoring 19 goals whilst conceding just two.
"It was another fantastic win for the players that gives us four wins in a row," Dignan said.
"I thought we started the first five minutes of the game on Sunday very well, not allowing Murieston the time or space on the ball, or to play out from the back, and had them pinned quite easily.
"But then I thought we got dragged into their game a little, and we looked a bit nervous, and just couldn't get our passes and patterns of play working. But, despite that, we went in at half-time 3-1 up.
"For as much as it's pleasing to still go in at half-time winning when we aren't playing particularly well, we still needed to reset ourselves and come out in the second half more like the team we have been in recent weeks, and know we can be.
"I thought we did that, scoring another three and not conceding in the second half, to win 6-1."
This Sunday, the Pars host East Fife Development at Pitreavie, where kick off is 1.30pm.
