ICONIC Athletic stars from one of the most memorable periods in the club's history will reunite at a sold-out event next weekend - and you can join them.

The Press have teamed-up with the Dunfermline Athletic Former Players Association (FPA) to give away two tickets to their event reuniting squads from the 1988/89 and 1989/90 campaigns on Sunday March 3.

To be held at the Carnegie Conference Centre, around 250 Pars fans are set to enjoy an afternoon of nostalgia and memories of the 1989 First Division title victory, and the following season in the Premier League, which saw the club hit the top of the table in the top flight for the first time in their history.

A host of stars from that era, including the likes of John Watson, Ross Jack, Davie Irons, Doug Rougvie, Trevor Smith, Paul Smith, Stuart Rafferty, Ray Farningham, Graeme Robertson, Stevie 'Zico' Morrison, Grant Tierney, are set to feature in what promises to be an enjoyable trip down memory lane.

Jim Leishman, who was the team's manager, commented: "It'll be a fantastic day.

"I cannot wait to reunite with the players and staff who were part of that special era. We had a unique group that shared a genuine bond with the fans. Crowds soared over those two seasons, with an average home gate of around 13,000.

"It was incredible!"
