MALACHI FAGAN-WALCOTT believes that Athletic supporters are beginning to see his "best form of football" as he settles into life in West Fife.

The 22-year-old on-loan Cardiff City centre back has helped his team keep three clean sheets in the eight games that he has played since arriving in January, the first of which came on his debut against tomorrow night's opponents, Dundee United.

Fagan-Walcott, a former Tottenham Hotspur youth, played his part in helping Dunfermline to a creditable scoreless draw on that occasion, and is aiming for another shoot-out when the Taysiders visit KDM Group East End Park tomorrow evening.

His second match for the Pars, however, ended in a 5-0 home defeat to Greenock Morton, but the defender believes he has come through it stronger.

Dunfermline Press:

"That Morton game - I don’t really like to talk about it - was a tough one to be involved in, but I felt like it showed a lot of character from me and everyone in the team, about how you bounce back after that when you just stick to something, although you get games like that in your career," Fagan-Walcott said.

"But you just stick to it and people see what you are really like. You cannot judge someone on one game or two games. Now I feel that people are starting to see the real me and I’m starting to really play my best form of football.

"Coming up here I knew that it wasn’t going to be so much playing every game - some games you might have the ball more than others. I came to the mindset of I have got to be super aggressive off the ball.

"Before every game I think of what I’m trying to do, I don’t really think about on the ball stuff. Everyone makes mistakes so I think as a defender, if you just do your job defending even if you are not great on the ball, you can still keep a clean sheet. I go into every game thinking keep a clean, be aggressive, win all your individual duels, help your team mates and then what will happen on the ball will happen."
